David Boon is the Business Development Manager for the Ashley Services Group who has a long history of broad-based, hands-on experience in technical, sales, training, administration and account management in a wide range of businesses. David has been a Member of the club since 2013 and currently hold the position as Commodore. His focus on building quality relationships and ability for lateral thinking has been a significant asset to the Perth Flying Squadron. David has been sailing for 50 years, beginning as a Sea Scout at Pelican Point. Aside from his home base (PFSYC) David’s most enjoyable sailing experiences have been the Florida Keys and the Marine Reserves of the Bahamas.
REAR COMMODORE REGATTA
Bob Freeth has been a loyal Member of the Perth Flying Squadron since 1982. He now holds the position as Rear Commodore of Regatta. Bob is a highly-respected sailor with quite the collection of trophies. His most memorable being first prize for the Parmelia Night Race. Bob taught Junior sailing for two years here at the Perth Flying Squadron and continues to participate in all sailing events.
Norm Roberts is an experienced Company Director who operates an ANZ Mobile Lending franchise and several other businesses. Norm’s business experience includes Company Directorships; Management Consulting; Committee / Board Chair and Board Membership; residential, business and corporate finance. Norm has advised on board performance and corporate governance; practice management; business development; project assessment and management; supervising consulting assignments. He also has advised on many strategic projects that included Clubs, Associations and not-for-profit groups. In addition to Norm's numerous business qualifications, he also holds the marine qualifications of Master 5 and Marine Engine Driver 2 and has worked on professional fishing and charter boats. He joined our Club in 2014 and became a part of our Committee in 2015. Norm currently holds the position of Vice Commodore.
