Pets in Outdoor Dining Areas
Recently we have received feedback regarding pets on the Balcony of the Clubhouse.  As much as we would love to accommodate our furry friends in and around the Clubhouse, there are some restrictions which we cannot disregard.

Clause 24 of Standard 3.2.2 of Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (the Code), specifies food safety requirements in relation to the control and management of live animals and pests in areas in which food is handled1. It is the food business’s responsibility to manage live animals and pests in the food preparation and service area to ensure food and drink handled in the premises are safe for consumers. This includes not permitting live animals in areas in which food is handled.
Clause 24 of the Code specifies the following: -
24. Animals and pests
(1) A food business must –
(a) subject to paragraph (b), not permit live animals in areas in which food is handled, other than seafood or other fish or shellfish;
(b) permit an assistance animal only in dining and drinking areas and other areas used by customers.
(2) In subclause (1), ‘assistance animal’ means an animal referred to in section 9 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 of the Commonwealth.
1 In Standard 1.1.1 of the Code, handling of food includes the making, manufacturing, producing, collecting, extracting, processing, storing, transporting, delivering, preparing, treating, preserving, packing, cooking, thawing, serving or displaying of food. Clause 24 of Standard 3.2.2 therefore prohibits pet animals from being present in outdoor dining areas where food for sale is being served to customers.

Security Notice - Jetty

All Members with boats in the Marina would have received an email notifying you of the change in the pin code to our Jetty gate system. The new pin code is not to be given to any one under any circumstances. Should you have a contractor coming to work on your boat, they must report to the office to gain access.
We are in the process of tranistioning from pin code to a remote system which means that a code will not be required to enter your jetty gate, rather, you will use your gate remote to gain access.
Members with the black gate remote with 2 buttons on it will not need to upgrade their remote (button 1 will open the front electronic gate, button 2 will open your specific jetty gate only).
Members who do not have this remote please ensure you come into the office within the next month to upgrade your remote as the new pin code will be deactivated within 30 days.

Important Consideration - All Members

Members are reminded to keep your belongings and any expensive items locked away in secure locations on your boat. Additionally, Members should ensure that all hardstand areas are kept clear. Dinghies, cray pots and other items should not be left in the hardstand areas and should be securely stored. Keep in mind we have lockable storage units available to rent should you prefer to keep everything in a protected spot at the Club. Our storage units are great for storing items that take up too much room at home or on your boat. For further details please contact our Membership Manager by calling (08) 9386 6437 or email

Junior Sailing

The End of Financial Year is almost here and what better time to help your Club thrive than by donating towards our budding Junior Sailors.

Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club has a few big goals in 2019, one of them is raising enough money which will enable us to help our Junior Sailors and their development as well as investing in junior infrastructure.

To reach our goal we are calling on our Members to help support this development fund. This development fund will go straight back into the Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club Junior community!

We are fundraising in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation to allow tax-deductible donations. Without contributions from our Members, we won't have the chance to thrive, grow and be as successful as we can be! The future can be bigger and brighter for us with your help.

You can make a tax deductible donation by clicking here, You will receive a tax-deductible receipt from the Australian Sports Foundation which you can include in your tax return,

Thank you for your ongoing support and loyalty and should you have any questions about this project or donating please contact the Reception on (08) 9386 6437 or email
