THE RULES
Competitors in the sport of sailing are governed by a body of rules that they are expected to follow and enforce. A fundamental principle of sportsmanship is that when competitors break a rule they will promptly take a penalty or retire.
Rules
Races will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), and the prescriptions of Australian Sailing (AS) , except if any of these are changed by these Sailing Instructions.
Supplementary Sailing Instructions may be issued for specific races. Where there is conflict with these Sailing Instructions the supplementary instructions shall apply.
Sailing Instructions Required to Compete
Boats​

  • Any boat on the PFSYC Register is eligible to nominate for Sunday Racing.

  • Each boat shall have its name clearly indicated on the hull and identifying registered class number with insignia and/or Club/Australian Sailing registration number on all sails with black Cross Pattée on mainsail.

  • Official sail numbers may be issued by the Club with the prefix “PF” or from Australian Sailing with no prefix.

  • The Clubs official prefix is “PF”.  The Club has a long history of displaying the Cross Pattée symbol and as such recognises this as a substitute for the Club’s prefix for all events conducted by the Club.

  • Whilst racing, boats shall fly the appropriate class racing flag on their backstay approximately two (2) metres above deck.
